As most blogs go, this one is probably the most sparse I've seen. Living life makes me realize just how much effort it takes to be purposeful in communication. Recently things have begun to change for me, so I'll hopefully be able to begin posting again.
Before I go full bore into it though, let's talk about what updates have happened since the last time I posted.
1. I'm done with college; graduated with a BS in Computer Science
2. I married my college sweetheart and have been happily married for the past 5.5 years
3. We have a 5 year old girl and a 2 year old boy (hopefully pictures will be forthcoming soon)
With most of that out of the way we can discuss what's going to be posted here. Initially I envisioned this as a central place to talk about my missionary journeys and how God is guiding my life. I don't see why that can't still be the case. God has called us to be salt and light [Matt 5:13-16]. To spread His gospel throughout the world as we go [Matt 28:16-20]. That even covers the white collar middle management types, not just those that forsake all the societal norms and set out. Scheduling these updates is still to be determined. I'll attempt to handle them at least once a week, just as a challenge to myself. I'd like to begin Journaling, if not for myself, for my kids.
I struggle sometimes wondering what kind of legacy I'm leaving behind with these little ones. Will they understand the Savior their daddy kept talking about? Will they follow in the footsteps even though they seem to be difficult and they don't understand? How will they know how special they are, unless it's recorded? Now, not everything will end up on the blog, but my hope is that I'm brave enough to post a good portion of my heart here.
That's it for now. I'll be keeping a lot of the old posts here for posterity's sake, and because I'm a bit of a sentimental person. I don't mind removing things if it's in the way, but as it stands it's just text on the internet, so no harm in keeping it around.
