Website Change

There was a change in the blog for the team. The other site kinda fritzed out on me. I’m really not too sure what happened to it. All I know is that it was working before we left and when we got here it wasn’t working anymore. If you know what happened then please let me know. It was most likely my fault but that’s ok. The new site is www.itpkz2005.blogspot.com. I guess that is what you get when you use a free blog site. I love it though. Oh well. Please keep thinking for us here. We definitely need it.

Everywhere and Anywhere

Well, here we are again, at the computer screen with a million thoughts going through my head. Where do I begin with this one?

Things have been going wonderfully here on the Ag campus. When the team first got here we were thinking that we were going to have a hard time meeting people and talking with them because most of the Ag students speak only Russian and Kazakh while most of those speak only Kazakh. That put a large damper on our hearts as to what our effectiveness was going to be. We began begging Dad for everything and anything. Our life at the feet of Dad has grown so much this summer. Without that time we would be stuck. Well, as the scriptures tell us, those who come to Dad and ask anything in the name of Big Bro it will be granted. We have had several students that have just come and wanted to hang around us because we are there. People who speak enough English to communicate and some that speak almost fluent English. You would almost think some of them spent some time in the United States. Dad has been faithful for even growing fruit from the harvest. There are two students, Machpal and Chingis, who are interested in what we believe and how we are living. Both have been reading some of the scriptures. That is absolutely amazing. The team is very pumped about what is going on.

Personally there has been a lot of growth going on. I have seen a lot of what Dad is trying to do in my life and actually allowing Him to do it. We are reading several books about what it is to discipline yourself to this life as a worker. There is a lot there to think through for me. Please just beg Dad to show me where He is leading me and the ones that are close to me. We all need assurance, peace, and love for the coming years.

Our theme for the project is ‘Undivided.’ We are pulling that from the 11th line of David’s 86th song. Please continue to think for us in all of these things. I miss and care for you all.

Hello from KZ

Hello Everyone,
I am finally in KZ and loving it! The people, the food, the toilets… yeah they are a treat. Imagine having a hole in the ground and forming a porcelain tub around it. Then you squat over said hole. Yeah, and they don’t always have toilet paper. It’s a lot of fun being here. We are living in the dorms of the Agricultural University. The showers are community and costs 30 tenge (about $.22) a head. With a team of 35 we’re dishing out about 8.00 a day for showers. That sounds like a lot but it’s worth it. The water is amazingly hot and amazingly cold. The toilets are also a hoot. We have 4 toilets without seats and anything outside the dorm you can assume will be a hole in the ground… literally. A hole in the ground with a porcelain bowl thing around it and you have to squat over it. Weird at first but you get used to it. We have also learned to carry around a pocket Kleenex in case the place doesn’t have toilet paper. It sounds really bad but one can get used to it. The food here is absolutely amazing and costs near to nothing. I just had a dish tonight which was chicken, lamb, sheep, lambchops, rice, and a roll for 770 tenge ($5.58). And I’m not talking about a small dish either. For those of you that know me… I was full. Everything here is really good food. The bread is the best. And it’s so cheap. Just for reference later on in blogs… the exchange rate was about 131.4 tenge to a dollar. Well, there is a lot going on here. Dad is sending people around us and they are clinging to us like a tick on a dog. But it’s a lot less irritating. They want to know a lot about who we are, why we are here, and what we left at home. Dad is also working in many of our hearts on the team. We have seen what we need to do to finish the work. To continue being diligent. We are also being trained in how work and see what Dad has for us. This team has been growing in the last 7 days we have been here. I can see and feel the difference that is being made as we grow. Continue to think for us as we think for you. Hopefully we will be posting pictures soon. I love you all.
